I would like for you to imagine a future civilization with limited access to instruments, recordings from the past, or musical training. Now ask yourself, how would this civilization understand a random assortment of surviving musical sounds without the contexts of genre, tradition, and academic or cultural writing? In the aftermath of this loss of context, how might the interpretation of this musical data become a new futuristic folk tradition? Drum Circle is the imaginary result of that science fiction.
